
AVP/Relationship Credit Manager

Job Summary:
The AVP/Relationship Credit Manager is an experienced underwriter responsible for underwriting a wide variety of business, individual and commercial loans. The main objective of this position is to support and expedite the underwriting functions for the commercial lending unit of the bank. Other areas of responsibility include supervising the credit compliance functions of the department. The qualified candidate should be available to assist junior analysts with questions and guidance. This position will support the department manager with various special projects as needed.
Pay Range: Base Compensation is dependent upon role, experience, and skill set: Min- $74,663/yr Max- $124,438/yr
Primary Responsibilities:
- Underwrite a wide variety of credit facilities including asset-based lending, unsecured lending, working capital, term loans and commercial real estate.
- Maintain satisfactory customer service levels with all lending departments in the bank by coordinating the resolution of issues regarding underwriting matters, collateral monitoring, covenant, and compliance exceptions in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the training of junior analysts as requested and needed.
- Monitor credit compliance workflow.
- Ensure that loan portfolio tracking and reporting functions are consistent and done in a timely manner.
- Identify weaknesses/issues in credit control and initiate improvements to the various processes of the department.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced underwriting experience required with extensive knowledge of collateral analysis, ability to structure a variety of credit and excellent accounting skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Proven time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and make necessary decisions within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work in an autonomous manner.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
Compliance Responsibilities:
The employee is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of job related laws and regulations and must maintain current compliance knowledge by attending compliance related training seminars and staff meetings and by reading pertinent compliance related materials.
Job related laws and regulations include, but are not limited to the following: Bank Secrecy Act (BSA); Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC); Vendor Management; Information and Data Security; and SEC regulations related to corporate governance and disclosure.
