SVP/Commercial Payments and Digital Solutions

Position Summary
The SVP of Commercial Payment and Digital Solutions is responsible for developing and leading HBC’s strategy to build and scale a Payments platform that complements our core Commercial Banking offerings. This role will focus on creating go-to-market strategies, deepening client relationships, and driving new sources of non-interest income through innovative payment technologies, cards and other digital solutions.
The SVP will partner closely with Commercial Banking, Treasury Management and Middle Market to deliver integrated client solutions that strengthen our value proposition and support the bank’s growth objectives.
Pay Range: Base Compensation is dependent upon role, experience, and skill set: Min- $119,460/yr Max- $199,100/yr
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to expand HBC’s Payments capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing deposit and lending relationships to grow payment revenues and client engagement.
- Partner with executive leadership to establish metrics, growth targets, and success measures aligned with HBC’s strategic plan.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work in close partnership with Relationship Managers, Treasury Management, and Operations to develop go-to market strategies and deliver seamless client payment solutions.
- Collaborate with Marketing to enhance market positioning and client awareness of HBC’s payment offerings.
- Support Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams in ensuring all payment solutions align with regulatory and operational requirements.
Sales Strategy & Revenue Goals
- Will work with the Chief Banking Officer to develop sales strategy and will have revenue goals associated with treasury and middle market products.
Client & Market Engagement
- Represent HBC in client meetings, industry events, and community forums to strengthen market presence and generate new business opportunities.
- Position HBC’s payment and card solutions as a differentiator in deepening client relationships and supporting local business growth.
- Leverage data insights and CRM tools to identify trends, forecast performance, and drive proactive client engagement strategies.
Leadership & Development
- Influence sales teams and focused on Payments.
- Cultivate a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence aligned with HBC’s core values.
Operational Excellence
- Optimize Salesforce dashboards and performance analytics to enhance visibility into sales pipelines and outcomes.
- Streamline client onboarding and servicing processes to improve efficiency and satisfaction.
- Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to HBC policies and regulatory standards.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Payments or Commercial Banking.
- Proven success in developing and scaling a Payments or Card channel within a financial institution.
- Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar revenue portfolios.
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Deep understanding of the Bay Area business community.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree: or 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compliance Responsibilities
The employee is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of job-related laws and regulations and must maintain current compliance knowledge by attending compliance-related training seminars and staff meetings and by reading pertinent compliance-related materials.
