Job Summary:

The AVP/Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for performing the daily bank reconciliation of the Federal Reserve Bank account. Responsible for reviewing the monthly certifications of general ledger accounts for proper documentation. Performs daily callback of block entries. Assists in the processing and posting of accounting and investment transactions. Main backup for weekly A/P cycle. Provides financial reporting support and other duties for management when needed.  Strives to achieve a standard of excellence that reflects the use of innovative solutions and maintains high productivity standards.

Pay Range: Base Compensation is dependent upon role, experience, and skill set: Min- $59,565/yr Max- $99,275/yr

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the integrity of the general ledger system and provides financial reporting support for management.
    • Daily call back of block entries.
    • Performs daily reconciliation of Federal Reserve Bank account.
    • Process tri-monthly entries for MBS P&I payments.
    • Process weekly A/P cycle when needed.
    • Process monthly depreciation balancing and entries when needed.
  • Performs monthly certifications of specified general ledger accounts.
    • Monthly accrual accounts balancing.
  • Prepares annual property tax forms.
  • Performs SOX certifications.
  • Prepares Loan files for FHLB and FRB line collateral reports.
  • Assist in Payroll processing if assigned.
  • Opens new general ledger accounts on the Prologue system when needed.
  • Completes or assists with special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Effective communication skills in presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization
  • Proven time management and problem solving skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks and make necessary decisions within a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work in an autonomous manner
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team environment

Compliance Responsibilities:

The employee is responsible for ensuring compliance with all aspects of job related laws and regulations and must maintain current compliance knowledge by attending compliance related training seminars and staff meetings and by reading pertinent compliance related materials.
